Auto Glass and Windshield Repair in Alto, TX
Clear Choice Glass and Mirror is based in Palestine, TX, and Alto is part of our regular East Texas route. Chipped windshield, cracked side glass, a back window that will not stay up: call us with the vehicle and the damage and we will tell you what it takes before we start. We also handle windows, mirrors and shower doors at home.
The Three Most Common Calls We Get From Corsicana Homeowners
- A rock chip that is starting to spread. Highway driving on US-69 and SH-21 means gravel and debris. A chip filled early is a quick job; a crack that has run across the glass is a replacement. Our guide to rock chip repair vs. windshield replacement explains how we decide.
- A new windshield on a newer vehicle. If your truck or SUV has lane-keeping or automatic braking, the camera behind the mirror may need recalibration after replacement. See why modern windshields need more than glass.
- Side or rear glass broken out. Door and back glass are usually tempered and behave differently from a windshield. Read how side and rear auto glass differs.
Repair vs. Replace: How We Make the Call
Small chips away from the edge of the glass and outside the driver’s direct line of sight can often be filled. That keeps the factory seal intact and usually costs less. Cracks that reach the edge, damage in the driver’s view, or a windshield with many chips usually means replacement.
After a replacement, the adhesive is still curing, so what you do next matters. We go over the first 48 hours with you before you drive off. If getting to Palestine is the hurdle, ask about mobile auto glass service and whether it fits your vehicle and the weather.

Glass Work Around Alto
Alto sits in Cherokee County along the highways that connect Rusk, Jacksonville and Nacogdoches, so many of the drivers who call us put real miles on their vehicles, and more miles means more windshield damage. For home and business customers we handle the same jobs we do across the county, including window repair for Rusk and Jacksonville customers nearby.
East Texas heat and humidity are hard on window seals and on windshield chips, which can spread on a hot day. If you spot damage, do not wait: a repair visit costs far less than a replacement.
